JOSEPHINE THE PLAY Presented by The Recycle Challenge TIME: 7 PM Ala Carte Tickets & Online available on October 5, 2022 One of our major goals at The Recycle Challenge Festival is to highlight those who have recycled themselves into better humans, thereby breaking labels and norms. Come with us as we venture into the world of burlesque, where jazz, food and culture is celebrated! Josephine Baker was a Missouri-born dancer who dominated Paris nightlife in the 1920s. The dancer, singer and actress entertained with tantalizing costumes and unique moves that captivated fans across Europe. She excelled during time in America’s history when racial injustice was arguably most prominent. This incredible experience is presented by the talented Tymisha Harris (aka “Tush”) who has been performing professionally for over 20 years. Her early endeavors included assistant choreographer and backup dancer for the ’90s pop group N*SYNC, multiple roles at Universal Studios in Orlando, backup dancer for LFO and a featured role in the hit movie series, Bring It On. Her more recent endeavors include working with the national tour of Rock of Ages, a European tour with the world-renowned Pilobolus Dance Theater Company and multiple roles.

The final review will be featured in Whose Magazine?, an online magazine and printed publication. Potential restaurants will be revealed in January, allowing participants an opportunity to make a bid for their restaurant of choice.

POETRY REFUELED & REPURPOSED Hours: 7 PM - 10 PM Ala Carte Tickets & Online available on November 30, 2022 Event feature a "Live-Stream" experience. This event features live music along with participating poets for us to take the recycling theme a step further - how we communicate. The event Poetry Refueled & Repurposed brings the art of wordsmithing, along with terminologies we already know, and “recycles” them. This event breathes a consciousness as we highlight Mother Earth, problems, and solutions. Let us use our thoughts and words to celebrate! Celebrate the earth in all her splendor. Our journey with this project began two years ago, virtually as we introduced each poet on Zoom, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the attendance was small, we were powerful in our delivery as our diverse audience gathered from Brazil, Washington D.C., Colorado, New York, and New Orleans. The words shared by our five poets added validity to our environmental concerns and offered inspiration. This year, are delighted to feature this event both as an in-person experience and as a Livestream on Zoom.
