PROMOTES RECYCLING AND UPCYCLING: 

The challenge encourages participants to repurpose and upcycle materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, effectively reducing the volume of waste.

CREATIVE REPURPOSING:

Participants transform discarded items into wearable art, highlighting the potential for creative reuse and demonstrating how everyday waste can be given new life, thereby reducing the demand for new materials and minimizing waste.I

EDUCATIONAL iMPACT:

By showcasing the creative reuse of trash, the challenge raises awareness about recycling and sustainability, inspiring communities to adopt similar practices in their daily lives.

ENCOURAGING REPURPOSING INTO NEW PRODUCTS:

Many individuals are new to the recycling and repurposing process. This challenge provides a better understanding of how one person can contribute to reducing trash and its global impact. Participants are encouraged to expand their recycling efforts and transform recyclables into valuable products that will be incorporated into their completed body of art.

This level volunteers their time in-trade.

WHERE:

The small parade with a big punch will be staged as an in-person event and "Live Streamed" at the St. Roch Market location (St. Roch  Street at St. Claude to Urguart Street)

 

HOW MANY WEARABLE ART PIECES WILL BE FEATURED: The aim is to have at minimum twenty-five-plus dresses created by the general public. At present we have in-house 34 paper hats from Nigeria and twenty paper dresses.

  • One headshot to the vendor profile.

  • Add your Instagram handle to your vendor profile. 

  • Mandatory, include a drawing of your planned dress or hat and or photos if, your wearable item is ready. Add this to your vendor profile.

From New Orleans to Nigeria, over twelve paper dresses and over thirty-four hats - fascinators, berets, wide brims  crowns have been created

for the 2023 Night Time Parade

            *your brand on one social media, business website, and video your recycle story.

* As a Co-Sponsor for Online experiences which includes “Live Stream” presentations, Zoom, and HOPIN your logo will be featured at the beginning of each scheduled experience to be live-streamed.

DIGITAL BILLBOARD:

* Your paper dress or hat will be featured on various digital billboards located in New Orleans. Photo shoot with queens and models, stylists and etc.

TOURIST WEBSITE: 

We partner with a tourist platform that will be purchasing tickets to events. As an artist, if an attendee wants to purchase a dress or hat, an ADD ON will be featured. This is a test, we can not guarantee that additional sales will be made.

 

  **As an artist's business name you may select to create paper dresses for attendees. This will be an Add On for travelers to select and pay for additional features.

         On your website, there must be a designated page that promotes your participation in THE RECYCLE CHALLENGE Parade & FESTIVAL

            **Note that there will be a review of your page prior to adding you to the list. This page must be approved.

   

ONLINE EXPERIENCE

* There will be either an in-person or online discussion group talking about the making of your art item. TBA.

* Logo is featured on flyers announcing the ONLINE schedule (printed & digital) 

SOCIAL MEDIA

*THE RECYCLE CHALLENGE will post on various social media platforms (2 times) in a month's time before the event. Our social media is: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & TicTok

*Interviews (TBA) 

INCLUDES:

*(1) slot to showcase your paper & recycled dress within the parade. 

          Includes: 

(1) sign will feature the brand's logo within the parade.

(1) Queen or model) to wear your dress/hat along with a choreographed with the performer(s).

WHAT TO BRING TO REHEARSAL

The dates for rehearsals will be in February 2023.

  • One pair of unwanted shoes to be repurposed. Old tennis shoes, flip-flops, or dress shoes.

 

AGE GROUP:

4 to twelve-year-old girls

WHAT YOUR SPONSORSHIP INCLUDES:

a) Your child will have a dress and rose crown created for her for the April parade,

b) rehearsals (two) for the rose princesses for the parade.

c) 2 Passes to the parade.

d) Featured with bio and short article in Whose Magazine? A Youth Publication.
