See New Orleans through the eyes of recycling, upcycling and repurposing costumes of paper! Join us for a 21+ adult event under the 2nd Annual Recycle Challenge Parade & Festival. This show-stopper highlights the burlesque world in what better location than THE ALLWAYS LOUNGE & CABARET where jazz, food, and culture are celebrated! Over the course of six nights of activities, we feature a recycled theme in some unique way. This event features burlesque and history that's infused with fun. A quality production that brings life to the story of Josephine Baker! She tells the intimate audience stories of life in the boudoir, wearing costumes and hats from paper and recycled materials. A recycling story that has never been seen.

We introduce the legendary, Josephine Baker as we connect history to the Missouri-born dancer who dominated Paris nightlife in the 1920s. The dancer, singer, and actress entertained with tantalizing costumes and unique moves that captivated fans across Europe. She excelled during the time in America’s history when racial injustice was arguably most prominent. We take you back to the 20s on a journey with Josephine - The Play.

BIO

This incredible evening experience is presented by the talented Tymisha Harris (aka “Tush”) who has been performing professionally for over 20 years. Her early endeavors included assistant choreographer and backup dancer for the ’90s pop group N*SYNC, multiple roles at Universal Studios in Orlando, a backup dancer for LFO, and a featured role in the hit movie series, Bring It On. Her more recent endeavors include working with the national tour of Rock of Ages, a European tour with the world-renowned Pilobolus Dance Theater Company. She is the co-creator / main star of Josephine Baker - The Play among multiple other roles.

Ana Cruz is a multifaceted performer and instructor from Colorado. She specializes in multiple hoops, Fire eating, fire dancing, stilt walking, belly dancing, and burlesque. Ana first discovered hula hooping in the silent disco of Boulder and since then has turned her favorite hobby into a career. She hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams and become the best version of themselves. You can find Ana teaching hooping classes in Denver and performing all around Colorado!
