The Smart Art Of Trash Parade showcases everything that can be recycled and repurposed and yet produces everything from wearable art to costumes, hats, banners, and more. A parade that literally reduces trash pollution. This lively parade awakens the imagination with two experiences from one parade. One part of the parade is a walking parade with music and merriment. This segment begins at Beanlandia (Bywater neighborhood) and then joins a street performance with storytellers weaving the rich stories of recycling interspersed with over ten queens and kings holding courts of merriment.
We show New Orleans's rich culture through storytellers, poets, dance, and wearable art such as paper dresses, gowns, suits, and rose princesses. You will become part of this art performance in the street that shares the story of nature, life, and history.
