About the event
New Orleans Mardi Gras and Carnival season feature elaborate balls and parades introducing queens. Earth Day, April 22nd and 23rd, 2022, #THERECYCLECHALLENGE introduces a two-day event around recycling, repurposing and reducing trash waste.
#THERECYCLECHALLENGE addresses a serious global need to reduce waste, and transform waste into viable products or vibrant works of art. The Challenge does both. New Orleans, is the perfect place to KICK-OFF an earth-friendly platform with artists demonstrating on location and virtually ways that trash can become anything!
Attendees are encouraged to accept #THERECYCLECHALLENGE by donating to the cause or donating glass to the onsite recycle station from Glass Half Full. This family-friendly, earthy vibe welcomes all to set up lawn chairs on the closed street of St. Roch Street, lined with twenty plus vendors, seven food vendors within St. Roch Market Food Hall with the cool vibes of DJ Juane Jordan. The two-day features youth and adult musical acts, New Orleans favorite The Bon Ton Baby Dolls, and KICK-Off Press Conference featuring stilt walkers, to children drummers, twenty-four paper hats featuring models from Chic Nouvellle wearing paper hats crafted by the Milliners Association of Nigeria.
