About the event
THE RECYCLE CHALLENGE Krewe is the newest earth-friendly parade krewe to join the focus on being environmentally conscious. Added to this our krewe is intergenerational and of course, Â family-friendly. Â
We are part walking parade and another part of the performance! A Â theatre in the streets. It begins at Benaladia in the Bywater neighborhood and passes by JAMNOLA and then heads to the St. Roch Market location. Â We will feature over ten queens and their courts of merriment combining dancers, stiltwalkers, drummers, and more! We present a New Orleans Mardi Gras energy centered around honoring and recycling EarthDay as a celebration.Â
We weave stories of better ways to caretaker the earth by introducing costumes made solely from recycled and repurposed materials to our consciousness "throws"! Which range from jewelry, accessories, money, food, and free tickets - all made with love. We specialize in handmade recycled art that's something you can use, wear or enjoy. All of course, with a recycling, organic, natural theme that's good for you and the planet.
