About the event

Get ready to unleash your creativity and craft unique costumes from cardboard in collaboration with the Krewe of Really Awesome Parodies. The "Cardboard into Costumes" workshop, is an exciting and creative experience where participants transform ordinary cardboard into extraordinary costumes.

Are you planning on attending the Bar Crawl hosted by the Krewe of Really Awesome Parodies? Then this workshop is for you. Guided by lead recycle artist, Madera E. Rogers-Henry and team invites community members of all ages to explore their creativity by repurposing discarded cardboard and turning it into wearable art pieces. Participants will learn basic costume design techniques, including cutting, folding, layering, interlocking, and completing the finished look of each costume.

What's even more important is that we teach you how to keep your costume from falling apart.

Attendees will be encouraged to think outside the box and create costumes that express their unique personalities or tell a story. By the end of the session, participants will not only have a new understanding of upcycling but also a one-of-a-kind cardboard costume ready to debut at the Bar Crawl or in the Chewbacchus Parade where the Krewe of Really Awesome Parodies will parade.

This workshop is an opportunity to connect with others, learn new skills, and celebrate creativity and sustainability in a fun, inclusive environment.
