About the event

Are you looking for something different in local music? Fungi (FNGI) is a collective group/band, founded in the summer of 2020, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group specializes in several genres, such as Jazz, Latin influence, Reggae, Alternative RnB, and  Alternative Rock. The group has a fresh take on a sound that focuses on a balance between modern-contemporary and that nostalgic feeling we all love from the ’70s to the early 2000s. Their idols include Jimmy Hendrix, Thundercat, Pharrell, Peter Tosh, Led Zeppelin, Anderson Paak, and Frank Ocean.

The foundation of the group includes Javier Garcia-Metoyer (bass), Rodney Web (drums, percussion), Myles Diaz (lead guitarist), and Romone Edwards (vocals, songwriter). The first release called “Green Tea”,  is available on all platforms when announced on their Instagram: @fungitheband.  Additionally, they recorded an album in Atlanta earlier this year that will be available in 2023.
